ESD PEEK
Carbon-filled, static-dissipative PEEK for semiconductor and electronics
ESD-safe carbon-filled PEEK combines the extreme temperature and chemical resistance of standard PEEK with a controlled surface resistivity of 10⁶–10⁹ Ω — precisely the range required to safely dissipate static charge without risking discharge to sensitive devices. MK Industrial & Co.® supplies ESD PEEK sheets and rods in Bangalore and Karnataka.
About ESD PEEK
ESD-safe PEEK is produced by compounding standard PEEK resin with controlled amounts of carbon fibre (10–30%) or carbon black. The resulting composite retains virtually all of PEEK's hallmark properties — 250°C continuous service temperature, resistance to virtually all solvents and acids, UL94 V-0 flame rating, and dimensional stability under humidity — while adding a permanent, carbon-derived static-dissipative character.
The surface resistivity of 10⁶–10⁹ Ω places ESD PEEK squarely in the "static-dissipative" range defined by ANSI/ESD S541 and SEMI E78. This is critical for wafer carriers and end-effectors, which must eliminate triboelectric charge build-up without ever risking a hard ground path that could arc-damage device junctions.
Unlike coated or surface-treated ESD materials, the carbon fill in ESD PEEK is homogeneous throughout the bulk — machining, drilling, or grinding the part to final dimensions leaves fresh ESD-safe surfaces, with no risk of exposing a non-static-dissipative substrate beneath a coating.
